Cockroach Control Melbourne

Cockroaches in Melbourne fall into two broad groups, and each one is treated differently. Identifying which type you have is the first step to getting rid of them properly.

**German cockroaches** Small to medium light-brown cockroaches, most often seen around kitchens, bathrooms, laundries, cupboards, food areas or appliances. They breed quickly and hide in warm, humid voids. German cockroaches usually need a specific German cockroach treatment, meaning gel baits and crack and crevice work, in one visit, because a general spray on its own is rarely enough. For heavier infestations we recommend a second treatment about 2 weeks later, to kill the young that hatch after the first visit.

**Larger outdoor cockroaches** Large, dark or black cockroaches usually seen occasionally rather than in numbers. They often come in from outside, roof voids, walls or garden areas. These are typically handled as part of a general pest treatment that targets entry points and harbourage, rather than a German cockroach treatment.
